NOCTI Information and FAQ
- What is the NOCTI Exam?
- NOCTI stands for National Occupational Competency Testing Institute.
This exam is taken by instructors who need the test for the Alabama
business/industry certification. The exams consist of multiple-choice
questions, and the number of questions varies by subject area. Each exam is
three hours in length.
- Who needs to take the NOCTI Exam?
- Many instructors can use the NOCTI Exam for their Alabama business/industry
certification. If you are not sure, consult your director/administrator
or your State Department staff member about the certification needed for
your program area.
- What does the NOCTI
Exam cost?
- The cost to register for the NOCTI is $195. This
covers the written exam and is non-refundable. The NOCTI performance test is not
available from the Resource Center.
- Which NOCTI Exam do I need to take?
- A
list of NOCTI Exams is
available for your selection.
It is the responsibility of the instructor to determine the appropriate test
needed. We cannot select a test for you or make suggestions. Please make sure you have selected the correct test as no refunds can be
made after the registration form is received.
- How can I study for
NOCTI?
- NOCTI is based on work experience; therefore, there are no study
guides or practice tests. However, if you wish to see a
sample of the type of questions asked, there are several sample test items on
the NOCTI web site: www.nocti.org
- Note: If you have difficulty locating the sample questions, go directly
to this link:
http://nocti.org/Jobready.cfm Once there, choose the test cluster you
will take, then the specific test.
- What
do I need to bring with me when I take the NOCTI?
- Everything you
need will be provided. You are allowed to have pencils, scratch paper, and a
calculator. You may bring your own calculator if you feel more comfortable using
it, but one will be provided for you.
- How
do I register for NOCTI?
- To register, download the registration form,
complete, and return to the address below. Payment must be made by check, money order, or official school purchase
order. Registration will not be accepted without payment or purchase order.
Please note the registration deadline for each testing date. No registrations
will be accepted after this deadline. No refunds are available after registration
is received.
