Certificate for 20 hours of instruction provided at conclusion of workshop
This three-day professional development workshop is designed for new
or recently hired postsecondary technical and health instructors, or other
non-degreed instructors. The workshop will focus on areas of concern for
instructors who have had no formal teacher training. Workshop staff are
qualified personnel who have extensive experience in training new instructors.
The workshop will be led by Resource Center staff, teacher educators, and
experienced postsecondary instructors. The agenda will consist of classroom and
lab management, evaluating students, teaching techniques, using technology as a
teaching tool, developing detailed lesson plans, establishing industry advisory
councils, as well as information about the postsecondary educational system,
working with business and industry, and working with student organizations.
